Q: When can I book my 2018 Walt Disney World vacation package?
A: We ran an article recently about the best times to book your Disney vacation for 2017 and were immediately inundated by comments from our fellow Disney Addicts asking “What about 2018?” This is a really good point, as for many of us, organizing a Disney getaway is something that not only requires a great deal of planning but also a great deal of saving. So, definitely don’t feel like you’re jumping the gun if you’re starting to plan your 2018 visit now.
But when can you actually book your 2018 vacation package? There’s no way of knowing for sure. However, Disney has historically released packages around the same time each year. So if we look back to 2016, packages for 2017 were released on June 21, 2016 for vacations starting on January 1st, 2017. Therefore, we can probably expect 2018 packages to go on sale at some point this coming June. Those planning to book late in 2018 should know however that when Disney initially releases these packages, guests are only able to book 499 days out. This means that late Autumn/Early Winter bookers will find themselves waiting a bit longer than the rest of the crowd.
Those planning ahead should also note that when Disney initially releases 2018 packages, these will be at the non-discounted or “rack rate.” Disney doesn’t usually release discounts until closer to your actual departure dates. However, with flexible booking policies, guests do have the ability to nab a discount even after you’ve booked so you will still be able to take advantage of savings if booking early.
