Wilderness Lodge

Starting back in October 26, 2015, Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort and the Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge started undergoing a massive refurbishment to its DVC buildings, the surrounding shoreline, and pool areas.   Though the project is ongoing with parts of this magnificent Disney property still off-limits to the general public, fans will not be disappointed when Wilderness Lodge starts to unveil its new offerings and amenities in the months ahead.

For those considering booking a stay at Wilderness Lodge during 2017, here are just some of the exciting new features you can expect.

New Pool Area – The Hidden Springs Pool area has been completely updated with a theme that pays homage to the pioneering spiriting of the Pacific Northwest.  The original quiet pool has been replace with a zero depth entry pool, and an expanded sundeck.  Expected to open in the Summer of 2017, the theming of this pool area is reminiscent of an abandoned rock quarry and features a “Boulder Ridge Railway and Mining Company” water tower.

Geyser Point Bar and Grill – Frequent visitors to Wilderness Lodge will be delighted with the news that it will be getting a brand new eatery. Geyser Point will be located adjacent to the central  pool area at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge allowing visitor to pick-up their food on the go and enjoy it poolside. The Bar and Grill itself will also offer a patio for dining alfresco with beautiful water views.  There will reportedly also be an additional quick service restaurant added to Wilderness Lodge’s dining line-up but no details have been released on this as of yet.

Boulder Ridge Villas – Not only has the DVC area at Wilderness Lodge seen a massive overhaul, they have had a name change as well.  The area, now referred to as Boulder Ridge Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge offers Studio, 1 and 2 Bedroom Villas with homey touches like full kitchens or kitchenettes, living rooms and even multiple bathrooms (in some) making them a favorite with larger families.  Guests will be impressed with the way that the theming of the main Lodge is carried through to the Villas which are steeped in the history and style of the railroad hotels found in the American West during the 1860’s.

Copper Creek Villas and Cabins – Guests looking to splash out on something special may want to set their sites on Cooper Creek.  Though Disney has not released many details as of yet about this additional Wilderness Lodge expansion project, its is expected to resemble the bungalow properties over at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.  This expansion will consist of private cabins along the water’s edge offering breathtaking views, privacy, expanded amenities and will be able to accommodate larger parties of up to 8 adults.

With all of the amazing sights and sounds of the Magic Kingdom just a short boat ride away and all of the fantastic new features on offer, there’s never been a better time to stay at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort. In addition to all of the exciting changes above, Wilderness Lodge also boasts a fantastic casual dining experience with lively staff over at Whispering Canyon, fine dining at Artists Point and a vibrant resort activity calendar with everything from resort tours to fun pool side activities for the kids.   Consider making it a part of your Walt Disney World getaway.  You won’t be disappointed.
