Why Fall Is The BEST Time To Visit Disney World 1

In honor of the OFFICIAL start of fall – I thought it would be appropriate to talk about the fall season at Walt Disney World, and why it is by far the BEST time to head there for vacation:

Crowds: Typically the amount of people at Walt Disney World tends to be a lot lower in the fall months (September/October) – due largely to the fact that summer is over, and school is back in session for most kids. If you are able to take time off and pull the kids out of school then it might be worth your while, as the lines for rides will be much shorter than during the super busy summer months

Deals: Knowing that many people are not as able/willing to travel during the early fall, Disney usually releases tempting deals to help up their admission numbers during those times. Historically, Free Dining and Room discounts have been available to some extent during the fall, and taking advantage of these can be a great way to help save money on a Disney World trip

Weather: Those of you who have traveled to the Disney Parks during the summer months can attest to the fact that Walt Disney World in the summer is INSANELY HOT. Not only are the temperatures in the 80’s/90’s daily, but the humidity is so dense you feel like you can cut it with a knife, and the sun beats down on your relentlessly ALL DAY EVERY DAY. Once fall hits though, the humidity is much lower, and the temperatures are still warm but MUCH less oppressively hot. Overall fall is a much better time to go to Disney weather wise than summer – and while you may see some rain (due to it being hurricane season), the temperatures and humidity are much more tolerable

FOOD: As everyone knows, the arrival of fall means seasonal treats all over – your local grocery store is probably stocked full of various pumpkin and apple flavored treats, and Disney World is no exception to this – they take advantage of the season with some great eats at the Parks that you will ONLY find during the fall season – like Pumpkin cheesecake and Mickey shaped pumpkin spice waffles (Check out more on that Here)! Not only are there fall treats available, but Epcot’s annual International Food & Wine Festival runs from September-mid November, and features a ton of pop-up food booths featuring dishes from around the globe, plus wine pairings, live music, food and cooking demonstrations, and much more! The Festival is a true foodie paradise – and you could easily spend multiple days just enjoying all that it has to offer

Décor: For me, decorating for fall is one of my favorite parts of the season – getting out the décor pieces that I have had for years, plus heading to various craft and home décor stores to scout out a few new items to add to the mix. Just like me, Disney World is always looking to mix it up and delight guests with new sights – and that applies to their decorating, too! Come September, the Parks are adorned with leaves and pumpkins at every turn – and it’s truly a spectacular sight to see! The Magic Kingdom also takes on it’s own spooky theme during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party which runs on select nights from the end of August through October. Pumpkins, ghosts and ghouls, and special characters (in costume!) are just a few of the things you’ll see here – not to mention the parade, trick or treating, and special meet and greets throughout the park

For those of you who know you want to go to Walt Disney World, but aren’t sure WHEN to go – hopefully the above helped make a solid argument for the fall season at Disney World – pumpkin treats, milder weather, Halloween fun – what’s not to love?
