What is a Dessert Party?

Question:  I hear people talking about Dessert Parties.  What exactly are these?

Answer:  Currently, you can find “special” dessert parties in the Magic Kingdom and Epcot.

The Magic Kingdom features the Tomorrowland Terrace Fireworks Dessert Party, which gives you a prime view of Wishes and a buffet of sweets.  It’s a win-win for the perfect end to a perfect day.  The All-you-care-to-eat buffet features pastries, cookies, chocolate covered strawberries, and other desserts, along with hot and cold beverages.  Reservations must be made in advance and there is a limited number of spots available so I highly recommend booking ASAP.  After you treat yourself to dessert, you are able to view the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular from the terrace and have an almost perfectly, unobstructed view of Cinderella Castle.  The best part…Tinkerbell flies right above you!  One of the best memories from our last trip was seeing my two year olds face as she flew on by.  You can enter the party 60 minutes before Wishes and Magic Kingdom park admission (and Event Party Tickets for MNSSHP and MVMCP are also required if going on one of those nights).

Big news is that beginning July 5th, the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party will get a makeover and be enhanced into the Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party.  The party will feature themed desserts and new additions, such as a variety of seasonal fruit and cheese, Disney character-themed cupcakes, and much, much more!  As the fireworks begin, enjoy a sparkling cider toast to cherish this special memory.  Signature lemonades, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate will also be on included.  The Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party will be $49 for adults and $29 for children (taxes included).  You can begin making reservations for this event on March 20th.

Over in Epcot, you can find the IllumiNations Sparkling Dessert Party.  Celebrate the different cultures of the world with delectable sweets from many of the countries represented in World Showcase.  You can also enjoy wine with your dessert.  Does it get much better?  A clear view of the World Showcase Lagoon, colors, and sounds make for an amazing experience.   The experience begins one hour prior to IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth and 180 day advanced reservations are highly recommended for this event as well.  Epcot admission is also required.

I absolutely love adding things like these to my family’s vacations to enhance the magic and I would love to help you do the same!  Email me to start planning your next Disney vacation or send me a message on Facebook!
