Question:  My Disney cruise is coming up soon and I’m starting to pack.  What should I plan to wear to dinner?

Answer:  If you started packing, that must mean your trip is coming up quick, yay!!  For the most part, the Disney Cruise Line has a “Cruise Casual” policy, which means they ask that you do not wear tank tops, swimwear or shorts to the dining rooms.  Jeans are allowed.  The evening’s attire is determined by the day, not the restaurant.  For the “Pirates of the Caribbean” themed party, you may wear your favorite pirate apparel, if you’d like!  Most of the cruises have special themed nights with additional attire requirements.  Here’s a summary to give you a better idea of how to pack!

3-night cruises:

  • Cruise Casual night- no shorts, swimwear or tank tops
  • Pirate or tropical night- anything goes!
  • Dress Up night- jacket for men, dress/pantsuit for women

4-night cruises:

  • Same as above, plus the final night is also Cruise Casual

7-night cruises:

  • Four Cruise Casual nights, the first one is on the first night
  • Pirate night
  • One formal night- men: tuxedo/suit, women: gown/dress
  • One semi-formal night- men: suit/jacket, women: dress/pantsuit

In addition, there are dress codes for the two specialty locations, Palo and Remy.

Palo:

  • Men- dress pants and shirt or jacket
  • Women- dress or pantsuit
  • Please no jeans, shorts, capris, flip flops or sneakers
  • Resort Casual dress code is for brunch and high tea

Remy:

  • Men- tuxedo or jacket (sports/suit) is required with dress pants.  Ties optional
  • Women- cocktail dress, pantsuit or skirt/blouse
  • Please no jeans, shorts, capris, flip flops or sneakers

For cruises that require formalwear attire, guests can pre-order tailored formalwear rentals and have these items delivered to their stateroom upon arrival.
